Thank you to all of the mothers and grandmothers who were able to join us at the College for Afternoon Tea on Thursday 1 April. The event was a sell-out, and showcased the wonderful cooking skills of the Senior Hospitality students and the talents of our Music students. A big thank you to our guest speakers Jennifer Westacott AO and Lanai Scarr for their warm and insightful conversation.
The Afternoon Tea raises awareness and funds for the Marist College Canberra Foundation and the Br Mark May Bursary Fund. The Bursary Fund provides financial support for families experiencing hardship and disadvantage, so their sons have an opportunity to experience the rich and vibrant learning environment at the College. A big thank you to the attendees who gave so generously on the day, and to all in our community who support the College in so many ways.
A special thank you to: Tea Garden, Pialligo Estate, Kim Kirsten, The Hyatt Hotel Canberra, The Canberra Distillery and Tweak Interiors for their generous donations of the Lucky Door prizes on the day, and to current parent Mel Braid who generously donated her time to help source the prizes. Thank you also to current parent Kylie Smith for her graphic design work, and to Show Pony Events for once again assisting the College with this special event.
