Our College
Parental Involvement
Involvement by parents in the activities of the College offers many benefits including having a wider base of expertise available to develop the talents of students; giving example of commitment to the education of the boys; providing practical support to the work of the classroom; and developing the sense of community in an enjoyable and participatory way.
Class Parents
Parents (and grandparents!) are warmly welcomed into classrooms through a wide variety of activities. This may involve for example, individualised reading or writing tuition; assisting in a particular curriculum area, eg art/craft; or working with individuals or groups in the computer room. There are many other ways to assist in and beyond the classroom - from helping out with class BBQs to going with the class on an excursion or to camp.
Other Involvement
There are many ways in which the involvement of parents can benefit the
educational community of Marist College. Whether it be in the canteen,
through working bees, with the P & F or "at the chalkface",
the involvement of parents is greatly appreciated and most rewarding
for the boys and the parents.
