The Careers Adviser provides students with careers counselling, as well as current information and advice to maximise their career and further study options.

  • Individual careers counselling
  • Meeting with boys and parents (one-on-one and small groups)
  • Subject choice counselling and UAC preference counselling
  • Annual Marist College Careers Expo
  • Comprehensive Careers Resource Centre: brochures and publications from universities (local and interstate), CIT, private colleges, apprenticeship entres and group trainees
  • Comprehensive web addresses for all Australian universities, scholarship information, elite athlete and performer schemes, Access schemes, accommodation information and GAP program contacts
  • Regular Careers email to Year 12 parents
  • Liaison with UAC, Universities (ACT and interstate), CIT, AIE, Industry groups and employers
  • Assistance with applications to interstate universities
  • Facilitation of visiting speakers – tertiary institutions and faculties, CIT, MBA, industry groups and employers, Defence Force Recruiting
  • Parent information evenings on university pathways and career choices for House groups (on request)
  • Careers displays at Information Nights and Open Day
  • Non-tertiary student information night
  • Work experience preparation and program for Year 10
  • Work Experience management and support for Year 11 and 12 students
  • Liaising with potential employers of school-based apprentices (ASBAs)
  • Assistance in resume writing and building of interview skills
