Learning Junior School Curriculum

The curriculum in the Junior School incorporates the primary school levels of Year Four, Five and Six. It allows for our boys to engage in a technology rich, differentiated, reflective and challenging learning environment. We focus on developing the whole child in a system which is based on strong Catholic foundations and the philosophy of Marist education.

Our current curriculum documentation in English, Mathematics, Science and History comply with the requirements of the Australian Curriculum v3.0.

The implementation of the Australian Curriculum will be an ongoing process over the coming years as subsequent Australian Curriculum requirements are approved and published.

Other subjects derive their Essential Learning Achievements and Content from the Every Chance to Learn - Curriculum Framework for ACT schools (2007) and Treasures New and Old, the Religion curriculum endorsed by the Canberra-Goulburn Catholic Diocese.

The Junior School staff work in collaboration with Senior School staff to ensure a smooth academic transition from Year Six in the Junior School to Year Seven in the Senior School.
