Our Mission and Vision
Characteristics of Marist Spirituality
Marist Evangelisation
• We present Jesus • We are open to the Spirit • We evangelise through education in encounter, discipleship and mission • We go further in dialogue • We start from the experience of young people • We have a strong sense of vocation
Religious Education
The College is first and foremost a Catholic school where education in the faith is given a privileged place. Religious Education holds an integral place in this overall goal and is central to the College's broader curriculum. An education in faith engenders a sense of the sacred, builds Christian community and invites young people to care with the heart of Jesus Christ.
Sacraments and Liturgy
The College nurtures and supports all boys in their personal sacramental journey which are run through the respective parishes. Students are actively involved in the preparation and leadership of prayer and liturgy in the College and are trained as Altar Servers, Ministers of Communion and Readers.
Service
Marist offers every student the opportunity to serve the least, the lost and the lonely through a variety of Integrated Service Learning activities which vary from year to year in an age appropriate pathway. A number of Service activities operate outside of school time and see students volunteering their time, energy and passion to serve those in the wider Canberra community.
Youth Ministry
Peer to peer ministry is key to effective faith formation and is fostered and mentored at the College through a variety of activities and events run by our Year 9 - 12 Youth Ministry teams. Students are invited to be trained, equipped and mentored in Youth Ministry through several different classes offered in Years 9, 10 and 11.
Solidarity
Our community coordinates fundraising events each year for Australian Marist Solidarity to support development projects in a number of Marist initiatives in the Asia Pacific Region. The College currently offers our Senior students opportunities to immerse themselves in countries and cultures that are different to their own and develop genuine solidarity through ongoing relationships.

Together, We Create Fine Young Men
Since 1968, Marist Canberra has been a part of and had its footprints on the land of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples. As a College, we acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we stand. We pay our respects to them and for their care of the land. May we walk gently and respectfully upon the land. We are, as Marists, an inclusive and welcoming community. We acknowledge that all are created in the image of our loving God and called to live our lives glorifying the Lord. People of all faiths, genders, sexualities, and cultures are therefore welcome and respected equally in the Marist Catholic community.
