Student Reflection:

During the semester break, a group of Year 11 students and two staff members participated in an Immersion to Darwin and the Tiwi Islands.

Central to the trip was the chance to grow in understanding of the local Indigenous culture. Among many highlights, the visit to the Tiwi islands was incredible. Getting the chance to explore Wurrumiyanga, and interact and play footy with some of the locals was an immersive experience that created many memories.

The trip gave the group a rich insight into the unique nature of each of the different indigenous cultures in the top end. The boys participated in regular debriefs and reflection throughout the trip, challenging their thinking and providing the opportunity to build camaraderie. Each boy has expressed their encouragement for future Year 11 students to consider the experience.
