On Wednesday 5 April, Mrs Osland’s Year 10 Music Elective class travelled to St. Edmunds’ College to participate in the inaugural Battle of the Bands. Our entire class joined together to perform Toto’s Hold the Line. Self-titled ‘The Mid Chefs’ were firm favourites amongst contestants from St. Edmunds College, St. Clare’s College, Daramalan College, and Canberra Girls Grammar. Staff were joined by Sugar from Better Music to judge based on accuracy, intonation and originality. Our students were successful in securing second place and a trophy, close behind the winner Lara Buchanan of Girls’ Grammar.

Students were able to mix with other student musicians in Canberra and gain valuable performance experience. Thank you to their families for the support, and congratulations to The Mid Chefs!
