National Skills Week – What are you looking for?

This year’s theme for National Skills Week is “What are you looking for?” focused on the idea of matching what people are looking for in a career and their life to skills training through Vocational Education. It is also about employers and industry showcasing what they are looking for in their team and the role that VET has in this space.

At Marist we have 164 students enrolled in VET qualifications working towards certificates in Furniture Making Pathways, Hospitality and Construction Pathways. In 2024 we will be adding a Certificate III in Business to our VET offerings which will be a valuable course for anyone interested in working in the business sphere but also for those looking at a pathway that would lead to owning and operating a business in the future.

We also have 27 students currently completing an ASBA (Australian School Based Apprenticeship) at Marist. These boys are not only completing VET studies but also in industry working in industries such as Plumbing, Electrical, Hospitality, Retail, Electrotechnology, Horticulture and Carpentry.
