Information for Parents and Carers

In the last Enews, we announced the ability of parents to view their boy’s classes via their parent logins in Canvas.

As most interaction over the internet occurs via mobile phone, the Canvas Parent app is worth having on your phone. Through it, you can view your boy’s assessment schedule as well as keep up to date on any class announcements via push notification.

We appreciate you will not want to receive all the communication relating to all the classes your son is enrolled in. You can change what types of information you receive by changing your notification settings. Please note: The following steps are more easily followed using a desktop or laptop computer.

Establish your preferred Notification Methods

Go to https://maristc.instructure.com and log in using your College provided ID and Password.

Click on your Account icon in the top-left corner of the main navigation bar.

Select Settings from the fly-out sub menu.

Add additional email addresses or a mobile number if you wish to be alerted about activities via those methods.

The Canvas Parent App

The Canvas Parent app is available to download from the Apple App store for iPhone and from the Google Play store for Android.

Once you have downloaded and installed the app, click on the Find School button and search for Marist College Canberra.

Sign in with your College issued ID and password.

You will see a list of all the Class courses your son is enrolled in. If you have more than one son at the College, you will be see them listed in the top bar of the app.

The Calendar component will allow you to browse upcoming assignments and other tasks.

Since 1968, Marist Canberra has been a part of and had its footprints on the land of the Ngunnawal and Ngambri peoples. As a College, we acknowledge the traditional owners and custodians of the land on which we stand. We pay our respects to them and for their care of the land. May we walk gently and respectfully upon the land. We are, as Marists, an inclusive and welcoming community. We acknowledge that all are created in the image of our loving God and called to live our lives glorifying the Lord. People of all faiths, genders, sexualities, and cultures are therefore welcome and respected equally in the Marist Catholic community.
