METWELL Project launched for unaccompanied humanitarian minors
A huge thank you to all involved in the first session of METWELL, a new Marist180 project designed to support Unaccompanied Humanitarian Minors. The afternoon of tutoring started off with nervous young people, nervous teachers and staff, to a really positive and exciting feeling of accomplishment at the end. The eight students and three teachers from Marist College Canberra had a very positive impact on the five young people in the METWELL program. They stayed onsite with the young people until 6pm discussing the tutoring program and its potential. The participating students expressed a real sense of sadness that this program was going to be a four-week pilot for an hour a week. They want more. There was a strong sense of community and collaboration from all students, and we look forward to this continued partnership between Marist College Canberra and Marist180.
