On Saturday 31 July, both the Marist First XVIII AFL team and Senior Rugby teams wore yellow socks and armbands from ‘R U OK?’ in their respective sports to take a stand against a battle that affects far too many people within our community.
Making this statement shows that as the older boys of the College, we are ready to break down the stigma and stereotypes of something that affects us all. We are committed to paving the way for the younger students, to help make a culture where healthy relationships are encouraged and speaking up is supported.
Special thanks to Anthony Gagliardi, an Ambassador for RUOK, for making the socks and wrist bands available. We look forward to all Marist sporting codes getting involved in the near future.
