Year 10 Subject Selection and Career Day
All of our Year 10 students should be hard at work considering their subject selection options for Year 11 and 12.
This can be a daunting and confusing time for students and parents, who may have never had experience with the Senior College system in the ACT before. I would advise that students take the time to do some research about the subjects, speak to their teachers, honestly reflect upon their performance in Year 9 and 10, and consider what package and subjects are best suited to them.
It was great to have so many people tune in to our Zoom session regarding Year 11 2021 and we hope that we answered many of your questions on that night. If you are still unsure of choices moving into the senior years, please get in touch with myself or Mr Folan.
On Wednesday 24 June, all of Year 10 will be involved in a full-day program committed to career pathways and options during their senior study and beyond. This will inform the students about University requirements, Defence opportunities, CIT courses and a whole range of other information that should help them to also make these subject selections.
I am organising to have guest speakers to discuss their career pathways with the students, so if any parent is willing and able to also volunteer two hours of their time on this day to support our Year 10s in making decisions about their study and career pathway, please get in touch.
