From the Head of Junior School
Dear Junior School Families
A warm welcome back to Term Four. I am hopeful that the boys all got to enjoy a fun-filled holiday break.
This term all classes are busily preparing for our upcoming Mission Day in Week 13. Class teachers will notify you what their two class stalls will be on the day and what items/equipment the boys will be required to bring in. Mission Day is our major Junior School fundraiser for the year, with the Junior School boys generously donating through their participation to our Australian Marist Solidarity Projects.
Later this term we are looking forward to our Little Brothers production in Week 17. The boys and Mr Palfreman have been working consistently throughout Term Three in preparation and excitement is building in anticipation for the shows.
Uniforms
Thank you to all of our Junior School families who ensure their sons attend each day meeting our Marist College Uniform expectations. Our Marist boys are well known in the wider Canberra community for wearing their uniform with great pride.
If your son is missing or has lost uniform items, please attend to this quickly to ensure they have the correct uniform each day. The Junior School lost property racks for uniform items is in the foyer area of the Junior School and is easily accessible for the boys at recess, lunch and after school each day. All uniform items that are clearly labelled with student names are returned to them through the front office.
Car Park and Junior School drop off/pick up arrangements – Gate 3
A reminder to all Junior School families that student pick up through Gate 3 begins from 3.05pm each afternoon. Please refrain from arriving before 3.05pm.
We ask that families do not enter through Gate 3 to ‘wait/park’ in the roundabout area before 3.05pm. Parking spaces are also limited through Gate 3. Families arriving and parking/waiting in the roundabout area before the 3.05pm bell are causing a block of the traffic flow, both within our school grounds and on Marr Street. This inhibits delivery trucks being able to enter the College, families entering the College for appointments during this time, as well as affecting the general public traffic flow and the movement of school buses on Marr Street.
